About

Just Announced! Dopethrone is coming to Regina along with Mizmor & Tribunal! Dopethrone is a Canadian metal band from Montreal, active since 2008. Known for their D.I.Y. approach and abrasive sound, they are a prominent force in the underground metal scene, often touring Canada and Europe, and have released 6 Studio Albums to date. Their style is a mix of sludge, doom, and stoner metal, which the band refers to as "Slutch" (Regional slang for "cold sludge" or "dirty, mud-snow"). The band is named as a spoof of the black metal band Darkthrone, rather than a direct tribute to the Electric Wizard album of the same name, although they enjoy the latter. Mizmor (Hebrew for "psalm") is a Portland-based, one-man "wholly doomed black metal" project created in 2012 by Liam Neighbors (AKA: A.L.N.) to explore the existential anguish, depression, and the painful process of losing his Christian faith. The music serves as a personal, therapeutic outlet, blending slow doom, sludge, and atmospheric black metal to process his grief, self-doubt, and the search for truth in a world without God. He combines slow, crushing sludge/doom metal with high-pitched, shrieking vocals characteristic of black
