About
Passion, drama, and the pure joy of dance come alive in a program that captures the essence of the human experience at R.S.O. Classical: Death Dance. From the spicy freshness of Kodály’s Hungarian folk-inspired music to the wild, evocative landscapes of Sparvier-Wells’s Muskwa’s Mountain Home, the journey continues to Liszt’s playfully macabre Totentanz (Dance of Death), featuring pianist Élisabeth Pion who returns to Regina after her recent win at the Honens International Piano Competition. The program culminates in Beethoven’s triumphant Eroica (Hero) Symphony, where bold dances, heroic marches, and soaring orchestral power celebrate struggle, triumph, and the grandeur of the human spirit. Programme: Kodaly, Dances of Galanta Liszt, Totentanz ~ Intermission ~ Sparvier-Wells, Muskwa’s Mountain Home Beethoven, Symphony No. 3 “Eroica” Featuring: Élisabeth Pion on piano Come experience one of Canada’s oldest symphonies right here in the heart of the prairies
